“Wherever I Lay My Hat” 2017

At the beginning of my painting practice, I painted only things I saw, things in real life, in way just as they looked like, in colour and shape. Even though, everything in everyday life can be so ordinary and not special, the moment you set yourself outside of your own cotidianity and step into someone elses, somewhere else, this common places become special, because they are not so ordinary to you, because they are new and temporary. That is the magic of travelling, the magic of movement and everytime I move is where I feel the most at home.

This painting was made out of a picture I did the mornig I arrived alongside my husband into Tachilek, in Myanmar the summer of 2016.
