Inner
Landscapes
This whole series of paintings were born during the lockdown, after my first Vipassana Retreat. This was and has been a very important work since it is the mark of a new chapter in my creative process. Inner Landascapes speaks about the expansiveness that results from inner exploration and the use of the imagination as well as engaging with images as symbols and a way to comunicate at a deeper level, just the way dreams do.

This work speaks about the internal panoramic view that can be accessed as a result of the relationship established between the inner and outer aspects of the self.
The idea was born during the time of the covid outbreak which coincided with a process of reconnection with my spirituality. I started researching material regarding philosophy, dream analysis, and started learning to use new tools and practices such as Tarot, Astrology and meditation which helped me access a vast source of inspiration to apply to my artistic practice.
The images presented in this work are elements of dreams and internal excavations resulted of the use of the practices mentioned above, that combined with the exercise of the imagination, new mental realities are created and take form in the canvas, as a way of mirroring to the outside what once was kept encoded in the mind, now reflecting a sort of “internal psychological design”.
